Every Vote is Sacred.

This is the most important election of our lifetimes. Let’s step up to ensure that all votes are counted as sacred.

  1. Sign up.

We are supporting COVID-safe caravans of sisters and seekers to support the efforts of Election Defenders at polling sites in the Milwaukee, Detroit, and Pittsburgh areas. As people of spirit, our role is to be a witness and prayerful presence to voters, until every vote is counted.

No matter WHERE you live, keep an eye out for more communications from us about potential caravans and actions after Election Day.

2. Train up.

Check out our Nuns & Nones action resource!
Now, as we are just days away from Election Day and we have already made our calls or written our letters, it’s time to shift focus to living out repair by defending democracy itself.  Here are a few options for showing up on Election Day and beyond. We hope this list helps you plan sacred action in your community.

RECOMMENDED TRAINING: Check out the Election Defenders trainings here! The last training is Thursday, October 29. Election Defenders will be working at poll sites to provide safe supports for voting (such as PPE and water), be a supportive presence to voters, de-escalate intimidation tactics, and more. Sign onto a training to learn how to get involved where you live!

Join up.

There are two opportunities to be with us in community, reflection, and ritual.

The NYC Nuns & Nones crew is hosting contemplative practice on Tuesday, Nov 3rd at 6:30-7pm ET, with open space from 7-10pm ET to drop in for a deep breath throughout election night. Register to join here.

On Election Day from 8am - 8pm ET via their social media, the Poor People’s Campaign will be offering 15-minute prayer services at the top of every hour. They are calling it “A MORE Prophetic Vote: Shine a Light, Ring Out Bells, Pray Prophecy for a Just Democracy” and inviting any faith or spiritual community to join them virtually or host something themselves. Sign up to join them here.

Post-election reflection space: If you are looking for a space for deepening conversation on repairing democracy amidst challenging times, we’re going to be hosting a call open to our network on Tuesday, November 10 at 6-7:30pm ET. We don’t know where we’ll be by the time that rolls around, but we know we’ll want to be in community and exploring questions of repairing democracy, no matter what goes down next week.
