Two communities, ONE SHARED CALLING.

For hundreds of years, women religious—“nuns”—have taken a prophetic stance, working together to meet the needs of the times. Rooted in communities of shared spiritual practice, they’ve channeled collective energy and resources to address affordable housing, healthcare, education, immigrant justice, climate resilience, racial justice, and much more.

In the United States, 40% of millennials choose ‘none of the above’ on the census box for religions. But while the religious landscape changes, the hunger to create lives of meaning, spirituality, solidarity, and social action remains.

Through Nuns & Nones, a younger generation of seekers has found deep resonance with sisters’ work, way of life, and ‘charisms’ - the defining values that shape their call as a community. Amidst the social and environmental crises of our times, we are hearing a common call to incubate new forms of community rooted in love and committed to justice.

WHAT WE DO

Our growing team is jumpstarting and supporting local groups, building a national learning network, and piloting place-based experiments in community and spiritual formation, land stewardship, and social action. Rooted in relationship, we build at the speed of trust and with the fierce urgency of now, in pursuit of a more just and loving world.

Join the conversation, find us in your community, and follow experiments as they unfold.
